Description

17th century antique Tibetan Snowdrift White Medicine Buddha

Total Height :15cm
Length: 6.7cm
Width: 4cm

This image is composed of three parts, the main statue, the base and the backlight, all cast separately.  The backlight of the statue is movable and inserted into the two mortises behind the pedestal.  The lord Medicine Master Buddha holds the herb of pear in his right hand and a bowl filled with nectar in his right hand. He sits on a single-layer upright lotus pedestal. Below it is the Xumi pedestal supported by two snow lions, also known as the "Vajra seat".  , while the back is in the form of a backlight with gorgeous decorations engraved with Garuda, Dragon Girl, Capricorn, Boy, Lion King, and Ruixiang, which are called "six holding tools".

Medicine Buddha is often seen in Buddha statues in the Central Plains, but medicine Buddha statues made in Tibet are very rare. Both Xumizuo and Liunaa are from India, so it can be judged that this statue is a statue of Medicine Buddha made by Xueduibai Workshop in Tibet.  Not only is it composed of three independent parts, but what is even more rare is that the three independent parts are all original components, complete and rare.  This image combines religious, historical, ornamental, artistic, collectible, and value-added features, which is extremely rare and rare.
